  • This is song is inspired by a broken heart and trying to come to terms with it. The lyrics are directed to a former love.
  • The relationship was 18 month long relationship with a man that Adele believed that she would marry, however, within months he was engaged to someone else.
  • The Title itself 'Someone Like You' shows how she is dwelling and holding on to her feelings for her ex. 







→The monotone colour has been used    through the entire video. The grey scale and black and white creates moods of isolation and misery
→The video is in black and white - connotations of sadness and gloominess. It could also connote how she is feeling empty.
→ The video is purposely done in black to show her emotions and how empty she feels






→The music video could be indirecting an old black and white film, as during the music video we can see how grainy the music video is. This is done for effect and show how gloomy and emotional that the song is.
→The music video could also be a video of her past relationship and how she is taking a 'stroll down memory lane'
