Social Context
- This song is discusses about teenage relationships, teenage pregnancy, undesirable player girls and falling for girls who are using you
- The song also is mainly about a relationship where sex is used as blackmail ending up in the eventual breakdown of said relationship when the male character dreams about a college girl
Interpretations
- 2 sides to a story; they both like each other however they are seen to be playing games; it speaks the truth by saying that boys say they love girls just to get them into bed. However, when they end up going to bed and the girl ends up pregnant, the boy doesn't want anything to do with them
- This song could also be about youth culture gone sexually crazy with ideas of lust confused with love. They think they know what love is
- He talks about London boys culture where they go to bed with any girl and they do not think about the aftermath
- The lyrics are relatable to anyone who grew around the working class anywhere
- The song isn't subtle either, it states exactly how he feels
Analysis of Lyrics
- It's your own fault you said three magic words.' - referring to 'i love you' and how that impacts a girl, 'fifteen, she's underage that's raw' - shows how boys have taken underage girls to bed and promised them that they loved them and ended up with them pregnant
- 'nah, it's not a love ting, get lost h**.' - this is how boys see girls after they get what they want from them; they know it's not love but lust
Music Video Shots
- We see a shot of Dizzee in stereotypical clothes that associate with the music genre - hiphop - he is seen to be wearing a hoodie with a cap
